Sarah Grooms of Wintrust Financial Joins U.S. BankTech Summit as Panelist

arah Grooms, Chief of Staff, Banking Strategies at Wintrust Financial, joins the U.S. BankTech Summit as a panelist discussing strategic leadership and the future of banking in 2027.

With more than 25 years of experience at Wintrust Financial Corporation, Sarah Grooms has worked across commercial banking, treasury management, digital transformation, and strategic initiatives. This December, she will bring that experience to the 2026 U.S. BankTech Summit as a panelist discussing how financial institutions are preparing for the next phase of banking.

Sarah currently serves as Chief of Staff, Banking Strategies at Wintrust Financial Corporation, where her work focuses on the future of financial services and how technology is changing the delivery of banking services and the ways institutions generate deposits.

In her current role, Sarah leads data-driven strategic efforts to evaluate novel activities and niche depository business lines while supporting executive-level project execution. Her work brings together emerging opportunities, technology considerations, and the practical requirements of implementing new strategies within a financial institution.

Throughout her career at Wintrust, Sarah has held several leadership positions, including Senior Vice President of Special Initiatives and Program Director of Digital Transformation. Her background also includes Treasury Management sales and leadership, Commercial Lending, and Commercial Credit.

We are pleased to have Sarah joining the U.S. BankTech Summit, particularly given her experience working across so many areas of banking. Her perspective will be valuable as the panel examines how financial institutions are preparing for 2027.

At the U.S. BankTech Summit, Sarah will participate in the panel discussion, “Banking 2027: Strategic Leadership in a Digital-First Era.”

The session will bring senior banking executives together to examine how their institutions are preparing for 2027, including the decisions surrounding digital transformation, regulatory uncertainty, and changing customer expectations.

Panelists will discuss how they are aligning innovation with operational resilience, maintaining agility in an evolving financial services environment, and making technology and business decisions that support long-term value.

Sarah’s experience evaluating new banking activities, leading digital transformation initiatives, and executing strategic priorities will contribute an important perspective on how institutions can connect emerging opportunities with practical business objectives.

We look forward to welcoming Sarah Grooms to the U.S. BankTech Summit and hearing her insights alongside other financial services executives.
